Organized Crime Section

The Medicine Hat Police Service Organized Crime Section (OCS) consists of two separate units. These units are the Medicine Hat Integrated Intelligence Unit (MHIIU) and the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU). MHIIU and IRET members report directly through the Staff Sergeant of the OCS to the Operations Inspector who is in charge of the Operational Support Division of the Medicine Hat Police Service.

The teams in both units are made up of RCMP and members of the Medicine Hat Police Service. Both units are integrated with members from both Police Services. Both teams and are partially financed by Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) who is mandated by the provincial government to provide Police with tools to fight organized crime. The area of jurisdiction that the OCS covers includes communities such as Brooks, Bassano, Bow Island, Drumheller and Medicine Hat.
