Update on Suspicious Device Found
On July 25, 2017, members of the Medicine Hat Police Service responded to the area of Southridge Drive and Sage Road after a 9-1-1 call was received reporting a suspicious device.
The package was made PVC pipe and resembled a pipe bomb. The MHPS Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) examined the package and was able render it safe. The contents were not explosive materials. The MHPS Major Crimes Unit will continue the investigation to determine the owner of the object and intent for leaving it in a public location

July 25, 2017 - Suspicious Device Found
The Medicine Hat Police Service is currently responding to a suspicious device in the area of Southridge Dr and Sage RD SE. The Police Service is requesting that public avoid the area, a business and several residences in the area are being evacuated.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Police Service. No further information will be released at this time. A formal media release will be completed, once first responders have ensured the safety of the public and the situation is under control.
