Bio – Bob McGougan
Originally from Vancouver, Chaplin McGougan has been a resident of Medicine Hat since September 1975. He is married (for 37 years) and is the proud parent to two children and four grandchildren. During the 1970’s, he worked on various construction sites in B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan as a plumber / pipe fitter. Presently, Chaplin McGougan is on staff at Hillcrest Church as Pastor of Personal Care and External Ministries.
Through a number of ride-a-longs over the past few years, he has gained a greater understanding of and deeper appreciation for the responsibilities of a police officer. When the opportunity to apply for the position as Chaplain came available, he had a very clear and strong prompting from God to do so and was honoured to have been chosen as the new Chaplain. Chaplin McGougan knows there are times along the journey of life when we can experience some emotional bumps and bruises. During these times we sometimes need outside help, like a listening ear from the Chaplain, who provides the encouragement needed to carry on.
