Two Medicine Hat Residents Charged in Connection to Recent Break and Enters

November 30, 2017 UPDATE

As an update to the release issued on November 29, 2017 relating to the two Medicine Hat residents charged with break and enter the MHPS can advise that

Kevin Sandford, age 42 years, of Medicine Hat , AB has been charged with:

·  Unlawfully at Large (Parole Violation)

·  Possession of Stolen Property over $5000

·  Laundering Proceeds of Crime (x2)

·  Assault a Peace Officer (x2)

·  Possession of meth

Sandford is scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on November 30, 2017

Alix Illingworth, age 37 years, of Medicine Hat, AB has been charged with:

·  Possession of Stolen Property over $5000

·  Obstructing Peace Officers

Illingworth is scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on December 5, 2017


November 29, 2017
On November 28, 2017, members of the Medicine Hat Police Service Priority Street Crimes Unit, as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of Break and Enters, executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 1100 Block of Steel Street SE.

At the residence, police recovered in excess of $110,000 worth of stolen currency and other collectable items.

Resulting from this investigation a 42-year-old male in custody awaiting a bail hearing.  The male faces the following charges:

·  Unlawfully at Large (Parole Violation)

·  Possession of Stolen Property over $5000

·  Laundering Proceeds of Crime (x2)

·  Assault a Peace Officer (x2)

·  Possession of meth

A 37-year-old female is also in custody and awaiting a bail hearing. The female faces the following charges:

·  Possession of Stolen Property over $5000

·  Obstructing Peace Officers
