Medicine Hat Male Charged with Extortion
The Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) have charged a 55-year-old Medicine Hat male in connection to an extortion investigation that was initiated on October 10, 2017.
Robert Hoefman was arrested on November 8, 2017 and is scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on November 9, 2017 to answer to a single charge of extortion.
The MHPS had previously notified the public about a possible connection between the extortion investigation and the homicide of James Satre. It still has not been definitively confirmed that the two files are connected, and the Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate both offences.
