Halloween Candy Advisory
November 2, 2018 – Halloween Candy Advisory
On November 2, 2017 at concerned parent attended the Medicine Hat Police Service to report finding a needle in one of her child's Halloween treats. The parent stated she had bitten into a wrapped treat sized Coffee Crisp chocolate bar when she found a sewing needle embedded in the center. The complainant was unable to say where the chocolate bar came from, advising she had taken her child to houses in the Somerset area and Northlands Way NE areas of Medicine Hat as well as Desert Blume. Police are investigating to determine the possible origin and validity of the candy.
The MHPS encourages parents to inspect all candy received and recommend throw away any unwrapped or unsealed items.
