Male Charged with Robbery

On April 2, 2018 at approximately 5:30 PM, a male suspect entered the TD Canada Trust bank, located at 1951 Strachan Rd SE, where he produced a handgun and demanded cash. Witnesses on scene were able to provide a detailed description of the suspect’s vehicle as he fled and the suspect was located and arrested by members of the Medicine Hat Police Service several hours later.

Ronald Big Bull, 31 years old of Medicine Hat, AB has been charged with robbery with a firearm (or imitation) and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Big Bull is also facing two additional counts of robbery and two additional counts of wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence for the bank robberies at the CIBC bank on March 19, 2018 and ATB bank on November 9, 2017. He is also facing one count of utter threats for calling in a bomb threat to the Servus Credit Union on October 31, 2017.

Big Bull is currently in custody with his next court appearance scheduled for April 5, 2018.
