Bank Robbery

On April 2, 2018 at approximately 5:30 PM, a male suspect entered the TD Canada Trust bank, located at 1951 Strachan Rd SE, where he produced a handgun and demanded cash. Upon leaving the bank with the stolen money, witnesses were able to obtain a description of the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was located and arrested by officers several hours later.
Currently the suspect remains in police custody while the Medicine Hat Police Service Major Crimes Section is continuing the investigation. His identity cannot be released at this time as no charges have been laid. He is facing potential charges of Robbery with a firearm and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The Medicine Hat Police Service would like to thank the members of the public that assisted with this investigation, as their assistance, along with other investigational leads resulted in the arrest of the suspect within hours of the offence.
