Stolen Vehicle / Break & Enter / Dangerous Driving

On the early morning of January 1, 2018, the Medicine Hat Police Service responded to Davis GMC Buick for a reported break and enter.  Entry to the business was made after unknown suspect(s) drove a stolen vehicle through the doors of the business. 

A short time later, on the morning of January 1st, patrol members attempted to perform a traffic stop on a burgundy Ford F350 which was observed driving erratically.  Attempts to stop this vehicle were unsuccessful and no further attempts were made due to public safety concerns.

Afterward, on the morning of January 1, 2018, Medicine Hat Police patrol members, once again observed the same Ford F350.  Further attempts to stop this truck were made, and as a result of an unknown mechanical issue, the driver abandoned the pickup, fled the scene on foot and was quickly arrested without incident. 

A 27 year old male was arrested in relation to the above incidents and is currently being held in custody awaiting his bail hearing.  At this time, this male is facing several charges including;

  • Break and Enter, Theft

  • Possession of Stolen Property over $5000 x 2

  • Dangerous Driving

  • Breach of Probation x 3

  • Resist Arrest

  • Possession of Stolen Property under $5000

  • Possess Break and Enter Tools

Note: The name of the accused cannot be released at this time, until the conclusion of his bail hearing and when the charges are sworn to before the courts.
